Chemically Impacted Communities Coalition of East Palestine, Ohio
On February 3rd, 2023 a Norfolk Southern Freight Train carrying Vinyl Chloride and other hazardous materials derailed in the community of East Palestine, OH catching fire and causing widespread toxic chemical contamination in the air, water and soil. After months of lies, denials and coverups by Norfolk Southern and government agencies the EP community formed the Chemically Impacted Communities Coalition(CICC) in an effort to bring support to the community of East Palestine and other communities impacted by toxic exposure. To empower and support communities affected by chemical contamination through advocacy, education, and collaborative action while working toward long-term solutions that protect the well-being of current and future generations.

A world where all communities are free from the harmful effects of chemical pollution, where every individual has access to a safe and healthy environment, and where communities affected by chemical contamination are resilient, empowered, and
fully supported in their recovery. We envision a future where systemic change ensures that environmental justice is upheld, and where the rights of impacted communities are prioritized in policies, practices, and environmental restoration efforts.
